MATH: Distance, Rate, Time

Today, our math notes are about using “the distance formula” to find distance, rate, and time.

The formula is:

(If this formula looks familiar, it is probably because you’ve seen and used it before in science class when you were working with speed! Good memory!)

You should also be pretty comfortable with the general idea of rates since we just wrapped up our work with ratios, rates and proportions.

The formula can be rewritten a number of ways depending on what value you are solving for.  Here are a few examples with the formula written different ways:
