Happy Wednesday, everyone!

STEP 1:
Please log in to your IC account.  If you can not do so,  put your name on the “help board” and we will try to help you troublshoot your individual issues.

Once you have successfully logged into IC and been checked off the list, or while you are waiting for teacher help with this task, you will be working on your Character Study/Literary Essay section of your e-Portfolio.

STEP 1A:  (Note, if you have not presented your Personal Essay unit to me, please pull it up and have it ready to present to me today.)

STEP 2:
By the end of class, make sure you have done the following:

  • Shared your portfolio with your reading partner(s) and your reading group.  (See me if you forget who is in your group.)
  • Designate space for, and plan how, you will include the following information into the portfolio:
      • Understanding of the purpose/problem for the unit
      • SMART goals from the unit (reading response goals are a good place to start)
      • Examples of your work (reading responses, notebook entries, revisions, etc.)
      • Reflections from various stages of the unit
      • The final literary essay

    The big “takeaway” from the unit and how you will use it in the future

HW and  ongoing assignments:  (Copy the assignments into your agenda.  Be sure to be specific about which stage you are up to on each assignment and try to include how much time you plan on spending on that task at home.)

  • Set up the student IC account by Friday, January 11th.
  • Prepositional Phrases online grammar lesson, due Friday the 11th.
  • Wordly Wise 7 –  January 16th
  • Update e-Portfolios
  • Think about a nonfiction topic you would like to read about during the next unit

Do we have to do a BrainPOP? If we are, I am not able to get to BrainPOP; so HELP ME!! (please)

Mridul, I got your BrainPOP. I’m glad you found a solution to your problem. Try logging in on a school computer and see if you have the same issue.
