WRITING:
This week, we will wrap up our historical fiction short stories.  Tuesday will be your final, in-class revision day.  We will be set up in stations.  The final drafts of your stories are due on Thursday and we will have a publication celebration on Friday.

READING:
You are beginning your research in science this week, and so you will apply your nonfiction reading strategies that you learned in our nonfiction unit a few weeks ago.  Be sure to write objective summaries for the sources you find and try to determine the author’s purpose and point of view.  As you gather research over multiple sources synthesize that information in your notes.

Also, remember that you MUST cite all the sources that you use and keep a WORKS CITED page for this project.

WORD STUDY:  The WW12 assessment will be on Wednesday this week.  We will also work on practicing with some writing prompts and some open-ended questions that accompany reading passages.
